During a plumbing rough-in the water and waste lines are installed that will eventually connect to all plumbing fixtures. This is usually done during a very early stage of a construction or remodel. Larger waste pipes are installed first, and then the water lines. Although fixtures aren’t installed until later in the remodeling process, it’s important to have exact measurements and know what is going where so all pipes are installed in exactly the right places. Before the rough in process is complete, all lines must be pressure tested.
